Method for simultaneous discrete-time analysis of features of systems and substances comprises the steps of generating a set of signals with predetermined frequencies and applying said signals simultaneously to an object and receiving a multiple frequency response and where components with different frequencies are separated by simultaneously sampling the signal with set of sampling pulses wherein the sampling rate is well below the Nyquist rate.
