IPV4/IPV6 NETWORK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD

An IPv4/IPv6(Internet Protocol version4/Internet Protocol version6) network management system and a method thereof are provided to enable an SNMP processing unit to confirm the version of an IP(Internet Protocol) address which managed nodes use and perform processing of the confirmed address according to the version of the confirmed IP address, thereby managing the nodes of an IPv4 network environment as well as the nodes of an IPv6 network environment. An SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) processing unit(220) transmits a state information offer request to one or more first managed nodes combined through an IPv4 network or one or more second managed nodes combined through an IPv6 network and receives a response message from the first managed nodes or the second managed nodes. A database management unit(210) converts status information corresponding to the response message into data of a preset type and stores the converted information in a database. An IPv4 address processing part(250) performs IPv4 address processing corresponding to the first managed nodes. An IPv6 address processing part(260) performs IPv6 address processing corresponding to the second managed nodes.
