Provided is a method for dispersing nanofibers uniformly into a metal or polymer substrate, which includes simple processing steps, ensures orientation of nanofibers in a mechanical manner, and produces a high-strength and high-toughness functional material. The method for dispersing nanofibers uniformly onto a metal or polymer substrate comprises the steps of: mixing a metal or polymer substrate material with nanofibers and applying a mechanical impact to the mixture to allow the nanofibers to be dispersed uniformly in the substrate material via the deformation of the substrate; and orienting the nanofibers in the resultant composite product via mechanical mass flowing of the metal or polymer substrate material.
