SIGNAL PACKET CONTROLLING APPARATUS OF W-CDMA SYSTEM USING TRAFFIC MONITORING AND THE METHOD OF THE SAME

A signal packet control device using traffic monitoring in an asynchronous mobile communication network and a method thereof are provided to monitor packet data transceived between an SGSN(Serving Gateway Support Node) and a GGSN(Gateway GPRS Support Node) of a WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) network, and to warn an operator if abnormal traffic occurs, then to maintain the abnormal traffic at a proper level. A packet classifier(50) classifies data packets and signal packets from received data by being comprised in a GGSN, and sends the classified packets. A traffic source classifier(52) processes the signal packets transmitted from the packet classifier(50) by removing the types and number of the signal packets, and unnecessary signal packets. A signal packet processor(54) receives and processes the signal packets in a traffic classifier.
