The invention concerns a device for protecting land vehicle against mines with magnetic detection. The device comprises a metal plate (4) for normalizing the magnetic field derived from the vehicle (1) or one of its components, at least one loop (5) made of an electrically conductive material connected to an electric power supply (6) to generate a magnetic field of intensity substantially equal and of opposite sign to the magnetic field derived from the vehicle (1). The device also comprises a calculator (7) co-operating with a modulator (8) to modulate the electric current flowing in at least one loop based on the variation of the magnetic field from the vehicle, in its position, on the variation of the magnetic fields generated by its components or on the magnetic field resulting from the vehicle equipped with said device.
