A method for compensating a bias of an HDD(Hard Disk Drive), a bias force profile writing method suitable for the same, recording media suitable for the same, and the HDD suitable for the same are provided to accurately and quickly compensate the bias by storing a plurality of bias force profiles according to a use lapse time of the HDD, selecting the optimum bias force profile among a plurality of the bias force profiles, and compensating bias force. A disc(12) stores information. A spindle motor rotates the disc(12). A head(16) records the information in the disc(12), and reads the information from the disc(12). A VCM(Voice Coil Motor) moves the head(16). An RAM(250B) stores a bias force profile for compensating bias force supplied to the head(16). A controller(240) measures bias force in a track following operation, selects a bias force profile having the most similar bias force to bias force measured in a current position of the head(16) among a plurality of bias force profile which is obtained by measuring the bias force throughout the outer circumference of the disc(12) from the inner circumference of the disc(12) and written according to a use time of an HDD, and updates the RAM(250B). The controller(240) compensates the bias force by referring to the bias force profiles stored in the RAM(250B) in a track seek mode.
