NUCLEIC ACID PROBES FOR DETECTION OF AEROMONAS HYDROPHILA

A nucleic acid probe for detection of Aeromonas hydrophila are provided to detect and identify non-viral infectious organisms in a biological sample, and diagnose infectious diseases. A nucleic acid molecule comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:347(GGCGCCTCGGTAGGG). The nucleic acid probe for detection of Aeromonas hydrophila contains the nucleic acid molecule comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:347. A method for detecting and identifying Aeromonas hydrophila in a biological sample comprises the steps of: (a) isolating and concentrating a polynucleic acid in the biological sample; (b) amplifying the polynucleic acid with appropriate sense and anti-sense primers; (c) hybridizing the amplified polynucleic acid with the nucleic acid probe for detection of Aeromonas hydrophila containing the nucleic acid molecule comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:347; (d) detecting the hybrids; and (e) identifying the microorganisms in the biological sample from the different hybridization signals.
