A method for stopping call reception during data communication and a mobile communication terminal using the same are provided to temporarily stop the call reception when the call reception is generated during the data communication, continuously perform the data communication without disconnection, and store received information in a call receiving history. A data communication unit(201) connects with a computer by using a wired communication interface or a wireless communication interface, and downloads/uploads data. A key input unit(204) allows a user to input characters, instruct an operation, and select a call reception stop function in a menu of a mobile communication terminal. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) unit(206) displays an input item through the key input unit(204), state information of the mobile terminal, a received short message, and call reception information. A data storing unit(208) is performed as a data buffer when an operating program of the mobile terminal is executed. The data storing unit(208) stores data inputted by the key input unit(204) and the call reception information. A program memory(202) stores protocol software for modulating and demodulating data or voice signals transmitted and received through a mobile communication network. An RF(Radio Frequency) signal processing unit(228) demodulates and amplifies an RF signal received through an RF antenna. A microprocessor(218) controls the entire operation of the mobile terminal, and controls a function for stopping the reception of a phone call received while the mobile terminal and a data processing device perform data communication.
