The device has a mode switching unit controls the changing from AAI mode to DDD mode of the device and from DDD mode to AAI mode of the device based on a preset criteria. An initial mode adjusting unit includes a unit for operating the device in AAI mode with ventricle detection and analyzing atrial-ventricle conduction in order to detect a potential disorder of the conduction during a slow sinusal rhythm period.
