METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPLEMENTING HYBRID POWER MANAGEMENT MODE IN A MULTI-CORE PROCESSOR

A method and a device for implementing a hybrid mode in a multi-core processor are provided to efficiently and flexibly manage a power management mode of the multi-core processor, and diversely utilize a system including the multi-core processor by enabling a user select the hybrid mode according to user's need. A mode determining condition monitor(230) monitors a condition related to the power management mode of the multi-core processor(100). A controller(220) sets the hybrid mode for alternatively performing a multi-core mode and a single core mode according to the monitored condition received from the mode determining condition monitor as the power management mode. The mode determining condition monitor monitors more than one which is selected from a group including processor temperature, system temperature, AC power state, battery remainder, and user selection.
