An artificial ear having combination of microphones with different orientation and a method of assuming a position of a sound source by using the same are provided to discriminate an orientation of the sound source by using dimensions of sounds output from the microphones. An artificial ear includes two omni-directional microphones(22) each positioned on one ear portion(20) and the other ear portion of a platform(10), and at least one directional microphone(24) positioned either of the ear portions of the platform. The directional microphone is disposed on either of the ear portions. Orientation of one omni-directional microphone is selected from a front direction, a rear direction, and a direction perpendicular to the front direction.
