Provided are a resin for an artificial ice rink which is excellent in abrasion resistance and is low in water absorption and surface friction, and an artificial ice rink using the resin. The resin is prepared by melt mixing 96.35-99.00 wt% of high density polyethylene, 0.368-0.67 wt% of an oil selected from a lauric acid-based oil, a palm kernel oil, a coconut oil, a cottonseed oil, a peanut oil, an olive oil, a palm oil, a sunflower oil, a sesame oil, a corn oil, a rapeseed oil, a mustard oil, a soybean oil, a linseed oil, a perilla oil, a tung oil, an oiticica oil, and a castor oil; 0.095-0.54 wt% of at least one compound selected from cyasorb-1084, tinubin, tinubin-144, benzophenone compound, and 2,2'-dihydroxy-4,4'-dimethoxy-benzophenone; and 0.087-0.195 wt% of at least one compound selected from butylated hydroxyanisole, butylated hydroxytoluene, PG, OG, DG, TBHQ, NDGA, THBP, ethoxyquin, and Innox 100, at 150-220 deg.C.
