HiL system and method for testing ECU (embbeded control unit) of a car control system

The system has a simulation device for execution of a system simulation, where the device is operated by a central unit (3) and is arranged on the central unit and on module units (2a-2c) of test modules (4a-4c) in a shared manner. The part of the device placed in the central unit simulates an interaction of controllers (1a-1c), where the interaction is related to a controller overlapping sequence. The other part of the device placed in the module units simulates controller specific sequence for the connected controllers. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method of operating a hardware-in-the-loop system (2) a computer program product for a hardware-in-the-loop system (3) a data carrier with a computer program product.
