A method for removing scale and suspended solids in a blast furnace cooling system is provided to stabilize blast furnace operation and prolong the life of bricks and metal cases for the blast furnace body by applying a high voltage pulse onto the pipe and filtering cooling water in a cooling pipe of a blast furnace body cooling plate, thereby improving cooling capability of a blast furnace body. In a method for removing scale and suspended solids contained in cooling water for cooling a blast furnace body, a method for removing scale and suspended solids in a blast furnace cooling system comprises the steps of: applying a high voltage pulse of DC 25,000 to 30,000 V onto a pipe through which the cooling water flows; and installing a screen with a sieve size of 25 mum on the pipe, and operating the screen under conditions including a pump pressure of 6kg/cm^2 and a screen pressure of 5.5kg/cm^2. The method comprises removing scale and suspended solids contained in cooling water using an electromagnetic water treatment device comprising an anode electrode rod(110) and a cathode electrode rod(120), a barrel(130) and a control box(140), and a filter device comprising an inlet, a screen, and an outlet.
