The invention relates to a pump station of the type including a pump sump (1) and an outlet pipe (5) with a support device (11). The outlet pipe (5) is mounted to the wall (3) of the pump sump (1) by means of the support device (11) and is arranged to be connected an outlet opening of a pump. The support device (11) includes a web portion (12) and a support portion (13). The web portion establishes a distance between the outlet pipe (5) and the wall (3) and connects the support portion (13) and the outlet pipe (5). According to the invention the wall (3) of the pump sump (1) has a recess (15) of sufficient size to receive the support portion (13) and of a depth at least as deep as the thickness of the support portion (13). The support portion (13) is mounted in the recess (15). The invention also relates to a pump sump for the invented pump station and to a method for mounting an outlet pipe in s pump sump.
