The ram has a reservoir (2) connected with an air vessel (12) in a water-conductive manner by a connecting line (11), a thrust valve (14) and a pressure valve (13), where the air vessel is filled with air at the top and water at the bottom. A container (5) is partially immersed in the water of the reservoir. An inner chamber (10) of the container includes the thrust valve, the pressure valve and a region of the air vessel filled with water. Sump water (21) leaving the thrust valve is drained into the inner chamber of the container, and pumped out by a sump pump (17) over a sump pipe (19).
