A position information providing terminal using an A-GPS(Assisted Global Positioning System), a position provision system and method are provided to check out the present position by calculating the present position of the terminal by receiving assist data from a base station controller and a PDE(Position Determination Entity) server and real-time data of the terminals and matching the present position to the correspondent map information. A position information providing terminal(100) includes a memory unit(110) storing map information; a main control unit(120) providing time information when navigation services are requested, requesting and receiving assist data, controlling position information acquisition by using the assist data, and controlling the output of a monitor by matching the present position of the terminal to the correspondent map information of the memory unit; an RF(Radio Frequency) transceiver(130) for transmitting a request signal of the assist data to a base station controller(200) of a mobile telecommunication network according to the control of the main control unit, receiving an assist data signal including ephemeris information from the base station controller, and supplying the assist data signal to the main control unit; an A-GPS receiving module(140) computing the present position of the terminal by receiving a GPS satellite signal from a GPS satellite(1) in a visual field according to the real-time data and the ephemeris information of the main control unit and supplying the present position information to the main control unit; and a display unit(150) outputting the map information matching with the present position according to the control of the main control unit.
