One ultrasonic probe and a device are for driving a ultrasonic element unit to be arranged to increase by a ultrasonic probe range, by the reciprocating motion for executing ultrasonic element unit within a predetermined stroke range. One ultrasonic probe includes a main body (111), a ultrasonic element unit (113), a shell (120), a retainer (140), a guide unit (130), a wirerope (170), a driving pulley (160) and a motor (150). Ultrasonic element unit (113) is mounted on the inside of main body (111). Shell (120) is embedded in main body (111), is supported ultrasonic element unit (113). Retainer (140) receives ultrasonic element unit and executes one on shell (120) and moves back and forth. Guide unit (130) is connected to shell (120), instructs the reciprocating motion of retainer (140). The both ends of wirerope (170) are connected to the both ends of retainer (140). The a part of driving pulley (160) air hardening steel cord (170) on an outer circumference. Motor (150) is in front and reversedly rotary drive belt pulley (160).
