A method for setting a software option by a hardware option are provided to enhance convenience without making a user change the software option of an electronic product by automatically setting the software option in connection with the hardware option. Hardware option information is received from a hardware option device if power is initially applied(S30). A system is adjusted to correspond to the hardware option information(S40). The software option is automatically set according to the hardware option information. A language is automatically set according to the hardware option information(S60).
