It is intended to provide mouse spermatogenesis genes constituting a mass of 89 genes cDNAs synthesized from mRNAs of which respectively have the base sequences represented by SEQ ID NOS:1 to 89; an Scot-t gene variant and a protamine-2 gene variant which are human homologs of genes belonging to the above gene mass and associated with human male sterility; a mass of mouse spermatogenesis genes and various molecular biological materials relating thereto; various molecular biological materials relating to male sterility-associated gene variants; and various test methods and diagnostic methods using the same.
