A method for controlling speed of a pump motor when controlling an anti-lock brake system of a vehicle is provided to improve the stability of a vehicle control by reducing the vibration transferred to an operation noise and an operation pedal. A method for controlling speed of a pump motor when controlling an ABS(Anti-lock Brake System) of a vehicle includes steps of: measuring an amount of droplet according to increasing/decreasing pressure of a wheel by monitoring an operation voltage applied to the motor during the ABS control(S1,S2); measuring an amount of reduced pressure by checking the time of reduced pressure when the pressure is decreased to a consumed droplet at a wheel pressure level(S3); determining an amount of optimum motor pumping according to increasing/decreasing pressure(S5); determining a motor PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) duty ratio for generating an optimum motor speed to be matched with the amount of the motor pumping(S6); and controlling the motor with the PWM duty ratio determined at the step S6(S7).
