APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PBX SUPPORTING VOICE MAILING SYSTEM

A PBX(Private Branch Exchange) control device for supplying a voice mailbox service and a method therefor are provided to enable a PBX to connect a caller in a recording mode of a receiver's voice mailbox if a ring signal is sent to an internal subscriber corresponding to a voice mailbox mode, thereby connecting the caller in the recording mode irrespective of a line connection type. A user information management module(43) manages information on service modes of subscriber terminals(21,22). A user interface module(42) receives a ring signal transmitted from the sending terminal(22). A voice mailbox management module(45) checks the service mode of the receiving terminal(21) by searching the receiving terminal(21) of the ring signal from the management module(43), and enables a PBX(10) to connect the sending terminal(22) in a recording mode of the receiving terminal(21)'s voice mailbox if the service mode of the receiving terminal(21) is a voice mailbox mode.
