Provided is a composition comprising an extract of Cimicifuga davurica roots showing excellent histamine release inhibition effect, and excellent skin allergy inhibition effect. The composition for alleviating and preventing skin allergy comprises 0.05-10.0 wt.% of an extract of Cimicifuga davurica roots, which is prepared by cold-dipping Cimicifuga davurica roots or concentrating it under reduced pressure at room temperature using a solvent selected from the group consisting of purified water, methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, glycerol, propyleneglycol, 1,3-butyleneglycol, methylacetate, ethylacetate, benzene, hexane, diethylether, dichloromethane and a mixture solvent thereof.
