A channel estimating method of a mobile terminal in a radio communication system and a channel estimator for performing the method are provided to improve precision by estimating a linear phase for a pilot symbol when estimating a channel with the pilot symbol. A channel estimating method of a mobile terminal in a radio communication system includes the steps of: extracting a pilot symbol included in a receiving signal, and estimating a linear phase value by using the pilot symbol; interpolating the pilot symbol at the axis of time, and obtaining a first channel response(804); interpolating the pilot symbol at the axis of frequency according to the first channel response, and obtaining a second channel response(805); and processing a channel estimating value by using the second channel response and the linear phase value(807).
