A device casing of a reformer is provided to allow uniform and compact filling of a catalyst in a short time, and to prevent catalyst dust or powder from being introduced into a welding portion of the casing. A device casing(20) of a reformer in which catalyst particles are filled comprises: a hollow flat box-like main body formed by melt bonding two dish-shaped members(21,22), each having a flat broad surface, a flange-like circumferential portion and a broader width toward the outside, in such a manner that the broader surfaces face to each other and the flange-like circumferential portions are overlapped with each other; a boarder plate(23) disposed in the main body in parallel with the broad surface and melt-bonded with the circumferential portions of the both dish-shaped members while the circumferential portion thereof is inserted into the circumferential portions of the both dish-shaped members; and a catalyst filling port(24) formed on the broad surface of the main body.
