A FAST METHOD OF TRANSFORMING COMPETENT CELLS

A method for transforming competent cells is provided to transform competent cells rapidly by omitting a time-consuming recovery step of transformed cells and perform transformation without requiring a temperature controller. A method comprises the steps of: (a) mixing plasmid DNA with competent cells such as Escherichia coli suspended by an ion solution to prepare a mixture solution; (b) smearing the mixture solution on warm selection culture medium at a temperature of 20-50 deg.C; and (c) culturing the mixture solution in the culture medium, wherein the ion solution includes a divalent cation selected from the group consisting of Ca^2+, Mg^2+, Mn^2+, Zn^2+, Cu^2+, Cd^2+, Fe^2+, Sr^2+ and Co^2+ provided that the ion solution does not solely contained the Ca^2+.
