COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATMENT OF TOOTH PAIN CONTAINING TRP CHANNELS BLOCKERS AND METHODS OF SCREENING THEREOF

Compositions for treatment of tooth pain containing TRP(transient receptor potential) channel blockers are provided to treat tooth pain caused by temperature stimulation by blocking the TRP channel which is activated at a specific temperature in mammals. A composition for treatment of tooth pain contains a TRP channel blocker selected from capsazepine and ruthenium red, wherein the TRP is TRPV1, TRPM8 or TRPA1 and the composition is formulated as toothpaste, mouthwash, good or chewing gum. A screening method of the TRP channel blocker comprises the steps of: (a) culturing a cell expressing TRP; (b) contacting a candidate material with the cultured cell; and (c) measuring the reduction of Ca^2+ ion concentration in a first afferent neuron cell of tooth by inhibition of thermo-TRP channel activation.
