A magnetic flux lock type superconducting fault current limiter for improving a quench characteristic is provided to limit fault current due to inductance control and to reduce the load of elements by connecting superconductive elements in parallel. A magnetic flux lock type superconducting fault current limiter for improving quench characteristic is used as a part of a main power line between a power transmitting stage and a power receiving stage and limits current at an accident. The magnetic flux lock type superconducting fault current limiter includes a steel core as ferromagnetic body(10), a first coil(20), a second coil(25), and a superconductive element(30). Each of the coils is wound around the steel core separately and connected in series. The superconductive element is connected with the second coil in parallel. The turn number of the first coil and the turn number of the second coil are connected with additive polarity.
