An ultrasonic probe having a pressing device is provided to uniformly press the entire surface of a diagnosed portion by pivoting a pressing plate to a transmitting/receiving surface at a certain angle. An ultrasonic probe includes a vibrator element assembly transmitting ultrasonic wave to an object to be inspected and receiving reflected echo, and an ultrasonic transmitting/receiving surface contacting the object to be inspected. A pressing plate is installed on one side of the probe, and is pivoted between a first position flush with the ultrasonic transmitting/receiving surface and a second position inclined to the ultrasonic transmitting/receiving surface at a certain angle. The press plate is pivoted between the first and second positions by a drive unit.
