METHOD OF POST-TREATING TO POLY(VINYLALCOHOL) RESIN FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF HOT WATER RESISTANCE OF POLY(VINYLALCOHOL) FIBER

A post-treating method of poly vinyl alcohol resin for improving the hot water resistance of a poly alcohol fiber is provided to replace the high-priced industrial fiber with an excellent PVA(Poly Vinyl Alcohol) fiber. PVA resin is mixed with a solvent and swollen. Thereafter, alkali compound is added into the swollen PVA resin and then the re-saponification process is performed. The re-saponified PVA resin is neutralized, washed and dried. At the re-saponification process, the solvent is water, preferably, the distilled water. The alkali compound is reacted as the catalyst and one or more substances are selected from sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and calcium hydroxide. The weight ratio of the solvent/PVA is above 0.1, preferably.
