A BACK-OFF ALGORITHM FOR DATA TRANSMISSION OF WLAN

A back-off method for transmitting data in a wireless LAN is provided to improve a data processing rate and a QOS(Quality of Service) of the wireless LAN by calculating a CW(Contention Window) based on success or failure of frame transmission. A back-off method for transmitting data in a wireless LAN includes the steps of: after transmitting a frame, waiting reception of an ACK(Acknowledgement) for the transmitted frame for a predetermined time, and determining the reception of the ACK; in case of ACK reception success, decreasing a size of a CW by multiplying the CW by an MF(Multiplicator Factor), and transmitting the next frame; and in case of ACK reception failure, entering a re-transmission process by multiplying the CW by a PF(Persistence Factor) and increasing the size of the CW. A collision rate is calculated by multiplying a predetermined constant delta value according to a wireless communication environment by a collision rate of a predetermined period.
