An apparatus for managing an automatic train stopper using a positioning sensor is provided to facilitate management and repair of the automatic train stopper by updating position information of a rail side. An apparatus for managing an automatic train stopper using a positioning sensor includes a positioning sensor unit(30), an on-board control unit(10), a memory unit, and a main control unit(40). The positioning sensor unit(30) measures a current position of a railroad car. The on-board control unit(10) controls an operation of the railroad car based on a responding frequency received from the automatic train stopper corresponding to an on-board system. The memory unit stores position information for each automatic train stopper installed on a rail side classified by operation sections. The main control unit(40) performs automatic train stopper management control by converting to an automatic train stopper monitoring mode when the position information of the automatic train stopper of a front proceeding section is in the memory unit and converting to an automatic train stopper learning mode when the position information of the automatic train stopper is not stored in the memory unit.
