PURPOSE: A signaling method for improving the performance of an adaptive array antenna system using the characteristics of a pilot channel in a CDMA mobile communication environment, and an apparatus thereof are provided to enhance the performance of an adaptive array antenna system by obtaining a weight vector through a pilot channel instead of a data traffic channel and applying the obtained weight vector to a data channel. CONSTITUTION: A modem receiver block receives a signal vector corresponding to the present snapshot. The received vector is transferred to a pilot channel despreading block and a data channel despreading block for data demodulation. Also the received vector is transferred to a weight updating block for weight updating. The modem receiver block demodulates the received vector through a despreading process and generates despread signals by antennas. The weight updating block updates a weight vector using the received vector and a pilot channel despread signal among the despread signals. Then the weight updating block weights the despread signal vectors of each data channel and the weight vector and yields the final output signals.
