An update method of a CB(Cell Broadcasting) message in a mobile communication terminal and the mobile communication terminal thereof are provided to determine whether the CB message is displayed, based on network information, so as to display the CB message on a pre-designated area on a screen according to the determined results, thus a user is able to simply confirm an updated CB message. A CB message is received from a serving base station or a target base station(S101,S103). It is decided whether handoff occurs based on network information included in the received CB message(S105). If so, the received CB message is displayed, and if the handoff does not occur, the received CB message is compared with a CB message pre-stored in a memory to determine whether to update the CB message according to the compared results, so that the determined CB message is displayed(S107-S109,S106-S108).
