METHOD OF SEARCHING ID3 TAG FOR DISC PLAYER SUPPORTING MP3 FORMAT AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM HAVING THEREON PROGRAM PERFORMING FUNCTION EMBODYING THE SAME

A method for searching an ID3 tag in an MP3(MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) layer 3) reproducible disc player and a recording medium capable of being read by a computer recording a program for embodying the same are provided to prevent the delay of time required for searching the ID3 tag when it is moved to the next music in case that a plurality of MP3 files are played in the MP3 reproducible disc player by searching the ID3 tag when a certain part of audio data is accumulated in a buffer after the play of the audio data of the MP3 file is started without primarily searching the ID3 tag when reading the MP3 file. A pickup is moved to a head position of an MP3 file(S210). Audio data of the MP3 file are read and buffered(S220). The buffered audio data are played(S230). When a quantity of audio data which are not reproduced is greater than a threshold value, the buffering is stopped(S240). The pickup is moved to the head position of the MP3 file, and it is confirmed whether an ID3v2 tag exists(S250). If the ID3v2 tag exists in the head position, the ID3v2 tag is read and stored(S255). If the ID3v2 tag does not exist, the pickup is moved to the last position of the MP3 file and it is confirmed whether an ID3v1 or ID3v1.1 tag exists(S260). If the ID3v1 or ID3v1.1 tag exists in the last position, the ID3v1 or ID3v1.1 tag is read and stored(S265). The stopped buffering is performed again(S270).
