A method for detecting a non-recorded disc in a disc reproducing device and a computer-readable recording medium with a program for the same are provided to minimize an abnormal operation when reproducing a disc by detecting recorded condition of the disc on the basis of the amplitude of the signal when reading the disc. A method for detecting a non-recorded disc of a disc reproducing device includes a step of sensing insertion of the disc(S110); a step of detecting a reference signal to detect recorded condition of the disc and obtaining the amplitude of the reference signal(S120); a step of comparing the amplitude of the reference signal with a pre-set critical value; a step of determining the disc is recorded with data when the amplitude of the reference signal is over the pre-set critical value(S130); a step of decoding TOC information of the disc(S140); a step of reproducing the disc on the basis of the decoded TOC information(S150); and a step of judging the disc is recorded with no data when the amplitude of the reference signal is below the pre-set critical value.
