A method for designing a gerotor pump having an optimal port shape is provided to realize the gerotor pump for maximizing a flow rate and minimizing pulsation by optimizing the optimal inlet and outlet port shape with an optimal design technique. A design parameter such as the flow rate, the pulsation, and noise for improving performance of the gerotor pump is set(102). The shape is changed by drawing out an optimal combination with a mini-tap method after determining the design parameter with a Taguchi technique. An optimal shape combination satisfying the flow rate and the pulsation is selected by analyzing rheology of the optimal combination(106). In case an optimal result is not drawn out, the parameter is modified and previous steps are repeated. In case the optimal result is drawn out, the optimized inlet and outlet shape of the gerotor pump is determined(110).
