A method for providing a differential data service by setting a service use level of an MPEG-4 BIFS(BINARY FORMAT FOR SCENE) is provided to differentially offer an MPEG-4 data service to a user by setting a level to node decoding of the BIFS included in an MPEG-4 bit stream according to the service use level of the user. The service use level changing the MPEG-4 BIFS node decoding by each user is set. When an MPEG-4 BIFS data service connection is requested from a user terminal, authentication information of the user is checked(202).
