PCR primer set for sensitive and specific detection of Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica

A PCR(polymerase chain reaction) primer set for detection of Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica is provided to improve detection sensitivity and specificity, and reduce the detection time and costs by using the primer. The PCR primer set for specifically amplifying all or parts of 1st to 4,857th base pairs(bp) of rhs gene(SEQ ID NO:1) for Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica comprises primers having the nucleotide sequences of SEQ ID NO:2 and SEQ ID NO:3. A method for detecting Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica comprises the steps of: (a) extracting total DNA from a plant; (b) amplifying the extracted total DNA with PCR using the primer set; and (c) confirming amplification of all or parts of 1st to 4,857th base pairs(bp) of rhs gene(SEQ ID NO:1) for Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica.
