Floor detecting apparatus and Floor displaying method using the same

A floor detecting apparatus and a floor displaying method using the same are provided to display current data, times, and information on the number of a current floor of an operating elevator. A first signal detecting unit irradiates an optical signal onto a shield plate support installed on an elevator shaft sidewall to detect the reflected optical signal. A second signal detecting unit is spaced apart from the first signal detecting unit to detect the reflected optical signal. A controller compares detecting orders of the detected optical signals to calculate the number of a current floor. A character interpolation unit interpolates the calculated number of layer floor with characters.
