A road visibility warning system using visibility sensors and pavement sensors and controlling method the same

A road visibility warning system using visibility sensors and pavement sensors and a control method thereof are provided to reduce traffic accidents by indicating a safe traveling speed according to an atmospheric state and a road state. A road visibility warning system includes a visibility sensor(2), a pavement sensor(4), a limit speed controller, and an indicator. The visibility sensor is installed at a predetermined position of a roadside in order to monitor visibility of the road. The pavement sensor is installed at a backside of the visibility sensor in order to sense a road state. The limit speed controller receives signals from the visibility sensor and the pavement sensor, and calculates and outputs a safe traveling speed. The indicator is installed at a backside of the pavement sensor in order to indicate an output signal of the limit speed controller.
