METHOD FOR RESTORING COMMUNICATION SERVICE WHEN 2G SYSTEM FAILURES IN THE CDMA COMMUNICATION SERVICE OVERLAY ZONE

A method for recovering a service when a 2G system has an error in a service overlay area of a CDMA communication network is provided to allow a service recovery for 2G subscribers who use a 2G-dedicated terminal as well as 2G subscribers who use a 1X terminal through an 1X BS(Base Station) when 2G system has an error. A 2G BS provides a call connection and communication service to 2G subscribers and a 1X BS provides a call and communication service to 1X subscribers in a service overlay area(S31). A 1X BS management unit checks whether the 2G BS or 2G BSC(Base Station Controller) has an error or whether a 2G BSC management unit has an error to use an SRM(Service Redirection Message)(S32). If the 2G system has an error, the 1X BS management unit generates a certain FA change control command(S33) and transmits it to each 1X BS positioned in the corresponding service overlay area(S34). Each 1X BS changes a specific FA to a dummy FA of a 2G primary channel according to the FA change control command(S35). A 2G subscriber is connected to the 1X BS through the dummy FA and receives a communication service based on the 1X system, thereby recovering the call communication and communication service of the 2G subscriber using a 2G-dedicated terminal(S36).
