FIELD: medicine, neurology, psychiatry.;SUBSTANCE: one should carry out electroencephalographic monitoring followed by analyzing EEG to prescribe pharmacotherapy. At registering EEG it is necessary to perform provocation of paroxysmal activity and at availability of generalized multiple paroxysms "multiple peaks-wave" in EEG one should diagnose idiopathic generalized epilepsy. Moreover, In 3-7-yr-aged children at duration of generalized paroxysmal complexes of "multiple peaks-wave" being about 10-15 sec it is necessary to prescribe valproate and/or sucselep, in 8-10-yr-aged children at duration of paroxysms being about 5-10 sec it is important to prescribe valproate and sucselep, and in children above 10 yr in case of paroxysmal duration being below 5 sec it is necessary to prescribe monotherapy with valproate. The innovation widens the number of preparations that enable to fulfill diagnostics and therapy of idiopathic generalized epilepsy in children.;EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnostics.;3 ex
