FIELD: pneumatic measuring equipment engineering, possible use for measuring diameter of shafts, and also roughness of their surface.;SUBSTANCE: method for measuring shaft diameter includes feeding gas into measuring chambers of pneumatic measuring device and further through nozzles, mounted in pneumatic bracket, into measuring gaps between surface of shaft and end surfaces of nozzles, and also through at least one nozzle additionally mounted in pneumatic bracket, into measuring gap, formed by micro-irregularities of monitored shaft surface and end surface of nozzle, adjustment of measurement limits by successive installation of adjusting parts in pneumatic bracket, mounted of monitored shaft on base surface of pneumatic bracket, measuring diameter and roughness of surface on basis of value of change of corresponding measuring gaps and appropriate pressure changes in measuring chambers of device, addition of result of measurement of shaft diameter to value of roughness of its surface and display of total and roughness value on indicator of measuring device. Device for measuring diameter of shaft consists of pneumatic bracket with base and support surfaces, pneumatic measuring device, containing measuring chamber and indicator, connected by communication line to nozzles, mounted in pneumatic bracket on measurement axis, while pneumatic bracket is additionally provided with nozzle for controlling roughness of shafts surface, mounted on base surface and connected to additional measuring chamber of pneumatic measuring device.;EFFECT: increased precision of measurement and expanded area of usage of non-contact pneumatic brackets.;2 cl, 8 dwg
