A method for influencing of a web properties of the shaft - profile of a fibrous web or a suspension layer (12) in a paper - or cardboard machine, a coating machine or of a size press by means of at least a directed sound field (25),– wherein the sound field (25) acts at a defined angle,– wherein the sound field (25) acts sectionally, in such a way that the sound field (25) in addition to its limited extent in the machine running direction (15, 16) also transversely with respect to the machine direction (15, 16) has only a limited extent,– these transverse extent of only a fraction of the width of the fibrous web or of the suspension layer (12) comprises,– wherein the sound field (25) a torque pulse to the movable components of the fibrous web or suspension layer (12) and– the movable components with their larger body axis oriented perpendicular to the sound propagation direction.
