Production of foamed bodies from expanded polystyrene comprises producing prefoamed particle of polystyrene containing propellant and subsequent foaming of the particle in a closed form through which the particle are fused to the foamed body, where the prefoamed particle exhibit functional groups in the surface, where the functional groups are group A and group B, which are reacted together in foaming, and the prefoamed particle exhibit both groups (A and B), or a part of the prefoamed particle exhibits group A and another part of the prefoamed particle exhibits group B. An independent claim is included for a foamed plastic body of expanded polystyrene, obtainable from the procedure.
