The pump has a piston that is actuated by a cam of a camshaft, where the piston is accommodated by the pump and is provided with an actuation cup that is supported in a cup guidance (10) by a bearing eye. The pump is retained at a housing of an internal combustion engine. A central longitudinal section (A-A) of the cup guidance extends in a parting plane (17) that is provided between a cylinder head (15) and a cylinder head hood (16).
