Multistage cryogenic separation of material stream comprises dehydrogenating material stream with hydrocarbon-rich liquid, extracting liquid fraction, mixing hydrocarbon-rich gas and producing flash gas and liquid product
Multistage cryogenic separation of a material stream comprises: dehydrogenating the material stream with a hydrocarbon-rich liquid; separating a hydrogen-rich hydrocarbon-containing gas fraction (recycle gas) (3) and a hydrocarbon-rich, hydrogen-containing liquid fraction (4); extracting the hydrocarbon-rich, hydrogen-containing liquid fraction by an intermediate relaxation; mixing the hydrogen-rich hydrocarbon-containing gas fraction with a cold hydrogen-rich hydrocarbon-containing material stream and at least a hydrogen content; and producing flash gas (14) and liquid product (18). Multistage cryogenic separation of a material stream essentially of hydrogen, methane and heavy hydrocarbons charge stream, comprises: dehydrogenating the material stream with a hydrocarbon-rich liquid at very low-temperature in a reactor; separating a hydrogen-rich hydrocarbon-containing gas fraction (recycle gas) (3) and a hydrocarbon-rich, hydrogen-containing liquid fraction (4); transferring the remaining hydrogen-rich hydrocarbon-containing gas fraction into the reactor; extracting the hydrocarbon-rich, hydrogen-containing liquid fraction by an intermediate relaxation in a phase separation; mixing the hydrogen-rich hydrocarbon-containing gas fraction with a cold hydrogen-rich hydrocarbon-containing material stream and at least a hydrogen content to give a gaseous product and/or the recycle gas; extracting the hydrocarbon-rich, hydrogen containing liquid fraction by the intermediate relaxation; transferring the extracted hydrocarbon-rich, hydrogen containing liquid fraction into a further stage of the cryogenic separation; and producing flash gas (14) and liquid product (18) by phase separation.
