The booster has a booster housing which is divided into a vacuum chamber and an operating chamber by an axially movable wall (2) which is admitted with pneumatic pressure difference. A control valve is arranged in control housing and controls the pressure difference. A roll diaphragm (51) has a unit which allows large radial pre-stressing of the roll diaphragm in a ring groove, and ensures attachment at a diaphragm disk (50).
