Topical cosmetic or dermatological composition (X) contains at least one hydroxyalkylurea (A) and at least one other active agent (B). Topical cosmetic or dermatological composition (X) contains at least one hydroxyalkylurea of formula (A) and at least one other active agent (B). R 1R 2N-CO-NR 3R 4 (A) (B) is: (a) a monomer, oligomer or polymer of (2-24C acyl) amino acids, their esters and/or metal salts; (b) DNA or RNA oligonucleotides; (c) natural betaines; (d) (pro)vitamins or their precursors of groups A, B, C, E, H or K and their esters; (e) alpha - or beta -hydroxy- or alpha -keto-carboxylic acids, or their esters, lactones or salts (excluding compositions containing 5wt.% 2-hydroxyethylurea and 0.05-5wt.% ammonium lactate or those containing 2-hydroxypropylurea and alpha - and/or beta -hydroxyacids); (f) specified flavonoids (e.g. naringin, alpha -glucosylquercitin, hesperidin or rutin); (g) isoflavonoids and plant extracts rich in them; (h) ubiquinone, ubiquinol and their derivatives; (i) silymarin; (j) natural xanthine derivatives, e.g. caffeine, theophylline, theobromine and aminophylline; (k) ectoin; (l) creatine; (m) olive leaf extracts, ursolic acid, olive oil and/or oleanolic acid; (n) mono- and poly-hydroxystilbenes and their esters; (o) derivatives of methylated silanol; (p) phytic acid; (q) maize or (r) oats kernel extracts; (s) Saccharomyces, xylinum, black tea ferment; (t) apple or (u) lotus seed extracts; (v) red wine extract; (w) grape seed extract, preferably of the Chardonnay strain; (x) extract of Sambucus nigra flowers; (y) agents that stimulate beta -endorphin synthesis in keratinocytes; (z) (in)organic UV filters; (aa) self-tanning agents; (bb) skin-lightening agents; (cc) agents that inhibit synthesis of prostaglandins (PG) and/or leukotrienes (LT); (dd) sebum-regulating agents and (ee) polysaccharides that contain deoxysugars or their components. R 1-R 4hydrogen, 1-4C alkyl, 2-6C hydroxyalkyl with 1-5 hydroxy groups, or 1-4C hydroxyalkyl, provided that at least one is hydroxyalkyl. ACTIVITY : Dermatological.
